ABOUT US
Queens Satellite High School for Opportunity is a transfer high school. We provide a smaller individualized school setting than large high schools. We serve students who are at least 16 years old, have attended another school for at least a year and are behind in the credits needed to graduate. As a member of the NYS Consortium Schools, our students are able to meet graduation requirements via portfolio alternative assessments (PBATS) and are required to only take the ELA Regents.
- “The student population of the consortium’s 26 public schools located in NYC mirrors the city’s student body. (African-American, Latinos, ELLs, and SWD’s) However, the consortium dropout rate is half of the NYC public schools.” The Washington Post, 11/2/12)
